Dream Catcher, Margaritas & Secrets

London awaited me with open arms, for the first time. Je'tadore this year first course at St. Martins this Monday, especially after school special with girls... ;) Looking forward to tones of spring term homework & I can't even believe I said that. :D

But somehow everything feels like a million years passed by since the last time I was here. It's like a new time zone, new life! Perhaps I look at things differently now because I'm freshly inspired, but basically everything changed! I have a new flatmate, healthy tan, SNOW, new GIGS, the new room with a dream catcher on the wall (present from ex flatmate Jaka, the 1/2 of Kitsch Nitsch), new artistic motivations and - not least important, a NU lifestyle...

Wait, a new lifestyle? Yes: I smoked my last cigarette before Christmas - that was like forever-3-weeks-ago in Marocco. I just quitted. (Why? - I was such a fan of smoking?) I knooow. It's super-boring. But wanna know the SECRET?

It was the easiest thing I ever did.

The Art of Twitter Attraction & Warren Ellis

This is story about the beautiful stuff that Social Media can do. Two days ago while I again stayed up waaay past midnight (twittering the night away) an incredible thing happened. I somehow found a writer Warren Ellis from (bloody) England, who described himself on Twitter as "English Writer. Not Australian Musician. Hasn't slept since 1985." and I thought: that is a genius! I went checked his site warrenellis.com, and after a five minutes I felt really satisfied that I again found someone really interesting to follow. YES!

Warren Ellis is the award-winning creator of graphic novels such as FELL, MINISTRY OF SPACE, PLANETARY, and TRANSMETROPOLITAN, and the author of “underground classic” CROOKED LITTLE VEIN.

Naturally I clicked "follow". After this I'd usually just click myself off, but since his last tweet was actually a simple question about what people do in their lives (he has over 21.000 followers!) I was like, well, I'll answer this one ...

@WarrenEllis So what do you people (the ones I don't already know) do for a living?

(Yes, originally mine, and you can quote me forever!:) Surely that kinda tweet reply could sound dodgy but I basically wrote how I would really want to describe it. And apparently - being true to yourself hasn't lost its appeal, also on Twitter... because it turned out that only a few hours later sleepless writer Warren Ellis was posting my photographs on his blog. When I saw this today I said to myself: now THAT was a bloody good Twittering a night away ...

Basically I want to read all of his books - and then I'd made him a cover for his next one! :)

The Cult of Done Manifesto

1. There are three states of being. Not knowing, action and completion.
2. Accept that everything is a draft. It helps to get it done.
3. There is no editing stage.
4. Pretending you know what you're doing is almost the same as knowing what you are doing, so just accept that you know what you're doing even if you don't and do it.
5. Banish procrastination. If you wait more than a week to get an idea done, abandon it.
6. The point of being done is not to finish but to get other things done.
7. Once you're done you can throw it away.
8. Laugh at perfection. It's boring and keeps you from being done.
9. People without dirty hands are wrong. Doing something makes you right.
10. Failure counts as done. So do mistakes.
11. Destruction is a variant of done.
12. If you have an idea and publish it on the internet, that counts as a ghost of done.
13. Done is the engine of more.

This is a reminder to myself when I'm writing an article. And a result? Empty box of Lucky strike. Blue ones. O, what a fail! :)

Google Analytics is Kinky!

Ever checked Google Analytics keywords of which people land to your site?
I just did, and what a fun that was! I'm posting five versions of (not even the most kinky) keywords as they were typed into the Google search that brought people to my site (and I wrote comments about it).

So, here's Zadeta od Lajfa's Top 5 (international) keywords:

1. how do i hide a gap between my teeth (Um, *scratching my head* kill the web cam?)
2. rimming flu (now THAT is so not fair!)
3. a widow for 20 years (cool, a new keyword for 'horny')
4. fucking with lipstick (hate to break the news, but it's not the smartest way to do it)
5. angelina jolie bukkake (oh, c'mon - she's a Mommy of the 21th century!)

Hm, there's something so wrong and yet so right about seeing what kind of things people dig on Google, isn't that right?

Hey We All Die Sometimes

Today my friend Anna again inspired me with her memories. And her talks about exploring of human relationships seems unconsciously brought me to Tara McPerson. She is an illustrator, a poster artist - and she does make that rock posters rocks! Deep inside I fall inlove with this title & artwork because it's something I can - I think we all can - relate to. The thing is that no matter how hard we try to be humans, sometimes a part of us just dies and we have to do eeeeverything all over again.

But in all this, there is a good news: broken hearts lead us to what we know best - the only thing that can not be broken and taken away from us ...

Zgodba se je začela, ko sta me Nina V, vodja vizualne podobe in kreativnih rešitev K4 (legendarna oblikovalka njihovih flyerjev) in Miha B, programski vodja kluba K4, nekega poletnega dne povabila k sodelovanju k ustvarjalni ekipi eventov IntosomethinG in Dance & Disorder.
Rekla sta, da si želijo po novem (če se ne motim - prvič v zgodovini Štirke sploh) za flyerje uporabljati "domačo" avtorsko fotografijo. In that case - mojo fotografijo!

In ker vsi vemo, da je K4 od nekdaj bila producerka naprednih idej in osebkov, prostor, kjer se srečuje ljubezen v vseh nivojih, sem bila zelo počaščena! I just love K4 ... tisti, ki me poznate, veste tudi, da se je tam začela ena največjih ljubezenskih zgodb ... Najina. :)

In tako sem takoj po Ameriki zbobnala skupaj svojo gorgeous meets crazy ekipo, in v fantastičnem vzdušju je nastala med drugim tudi fotografija, ki zdaj govori zgodbo na prvi strani flyerja.
